Natural gas or NG, in a narrow sense, is a kind of multi-component gaseous fossil fuel. It is a mixture primarily of methane, ethane, propane and butane. It is mainly found in oil fields, gas fields, coal beds and shale beds. Natural gas does not generate as much waste residue and waste water in combustion, so it is safer and cleaner with higher calorific values than coal, oil and other sources. Natural gas can be divided into associated gas and non-associated gases.
Natural gas pipeline
Natural gas pipeline, or gas pipeline, is used to transmit natural gas (including associated gas produced from oil field) from recovery sites or processing plants to city distribution centers or industrial users and enterprises. It is the only way formass transportation of gas on land. Natural gas pipelines account for about half of the total length of the world’s pipelines.
