Natural gas

Natural gas or NG, in a narrow sense, is a kind of multi-component gaseous fossil fuel. It is a mixture primarily of methane, ethane, propane and butane. It is mainly found in oil fields, gas fields, coal beds and shale beds. Natural gas does not generate as much waste residue and waste water in combustion, so it is safer and cleaner with higher calorific values than coal, oil and other sources. Natural gas can be divided into associated gas and non-associated gases.

Natural gas pipeline

Natural gas pipeline, or gas pipeline, is used to transmit natural gas (including associated gas produced from oil field) from recovery sites or processing plants to city distribution centers or industrial users and enterprises. It is the only way formass transportation of gas on land. Natural gas pipelines account for about half of the total length of the world’s pipelines.

Long-distance pipeline

It refers to the pipeline that is used for transporting oil and gas between the production sites, storage depots and users.

City gas

It refers to the fuel gas for cities, towns or residential areas, that is supplied through transportation and distribution systems to the residents, commercial and industrial enterprises, and other users for living, production, heating and ventilation, air conditioning, or other public utilities, and that complies with the fuel gas quality specified here. City gas generally includes natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and manufactured gas.

Gas transmission station

It is a general term of various processing stations in gas transmission pipeline project. It generally consists of stations such as the initial station, gas transmission terminal station, compressor station, gas receiving terminal, gas distributing station, and pigging station.

Gas transmission initial station

It is the initial station of the gas pipeline, which generally has the functions of separation, pressure regulation, metering, and pigging.

Gas transmission terminal station

It is the terminal station of the gas pipeline, which generally has the functions of separation, pressure regulation, metering, pigging, gas distribution, etc.

Gas receiving station

It is a station that is set up along the gas pipeline for receiving the gas from a branch pipeline, which generally has the functions of separation, pressure regulation, metering, pigging, etc.
